Aldehydes and Ketones resin (also known as polyketone resin, ketone-formaldehyde resin) is one high-brightness, light-fastness of the neutral, non-saponification-based cyclohexanone - formaldehyde resin.
  The chemical structure of aldehydes and ketones resin KR series gives it a special quality and characteristics, the resin become the saturated ring structure in the condensation phase that make resin has high gloss, hardness, anti-degradation, and weather resistance. As a result of this resin in the structure of non-ester, it has good water resistance. Since the primary key contains a lot of the cyclohexyl, it will have heat resistance. In addition, the keto group and hydroxy group make them have a wide range of polarity solubility and miscibility, as well as the good paint wettability and adhesion. Therefore, aldehydes and ketones resin KR series not only can compound with larger polarity, but also with less polarity. It fit for the majority of inks, coatings and adhesive systems to improve ink, paint, and the adhesive’s quick-drying , gloss, adhesion, levelling property , pigment wetting and solid content as the ideal matching raw materials of the ink, paint and adhesives.

Aldehydes and ketones resin KR series is soluble in most common solvents in all the dope industries, such as alcohols, ketones, esters, ethers etc, excepting water and aliphatic hydrocarbon.Adopt mixture solvent or heating type to speed up resin solution speed.

Applications of aldehydes and ketones resin−−Ink industry

Aldehydes and ketones resin KR series can be used with nitrocellulose resin, polyamide resin, and other raw materials to enhance the gloss of the system, adhesion, pigment wetting, printed and colored, and solid content, decreasing the freezing point of the polyamide to make the ink not easy to freeze in the winter, improving the ink’s store problems. Because of its non-toxic, non- smell, it can be used to produce food packaging ink.

A, KR-120A is an anti-yellowing aldehydes and ketones resin. It is a special synthetic resin of the latest research. Using special technology and imported raw materials to solve outdoor anti-yellowing poor weather resistance, and does not contain aldehydes, benzene, ketones, and other organic matter. With excellent anti-yellowing, quick-drying, solvent volatility, high softening point, high hardness, strong adhesion, good gloss characteristics, it is suit for system of environmentally ink formulations. Alpha

B, KR-120B gliadin aldehydes and ketones resin is a high softening point, high hydroxyl value, the gliadin excellent aliphatic resin. It has a good solubility in methanol and other alcohol solvents. It is more suitable for using in the alcohol-soluble ink system with better pigment wetting and dispersing properties, gloss, fullness, volatile and high hardness characteristics etc. (New products recommended)

C, KR-120W aldehydes and ketones resin, which made of special materials and special process form, hydroxyl value up to about 260. It is no any odor residues, no heavy metals, non-toxic and more environmentally friendly. It is fit for using in the food packaging inks, printing ink tipping paper, cigarette case Varnish type, paper Varnish, leather Varnish, footwear Varnish, and nail polish type of oil and so on. They can marked improve the system of gloss, adhesion, drying and leveling, printed, and so on. We suggest use 5% -10% in the whole system. (Engineers recommended)

D, Because of its low softening point and high adhesion, KR-80F aldehydes and ketones resin is ideal for high adhesive demanded metal ink, plastic printing ink, thermal transfer ink system and other special ink system etc. We suggest use 5% -15 % in the whole system. (Engineers recommended)

E, Because of its softening point can be high to about 130℃, KR-130 aldehydes and ketones resin are fit for using in high temperature resin bags of milk and other high temperature printing ink systems, it is recommended to use 1% -5% in the system. (Engineers recommended)

F, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be mixed with nitro-cellulose resin, polyamide resin, alkyd resin, acrylic resin, maleic anhydride resins, rosin resins, using in plastic sheet printing ink, plastic composite inks, aluminum foil printing ink, hot ink , gold and silver cardboard inks, security inks, adhesive sheets ink and transparent inks, thermal transfer ink, etc. They can significantly improve the gloss, adhesion, flow leveling, drying, and so on. We suggested that the use of the entire system is about 2% -5%.

G, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used for solvent-based gravure, flexo and screen printing ink, etc. They can improve the wettability pigment, gloss, printing and solid content of the ink. We suggest that the use of the system is 3% -8%.

H, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used in ball-point pen ink, making it has a special smooth write. These features will enable the writing not dry and have the fast-curing in the Ink tool.

(3) As a result of excellent adhesion and superior to KR-120, KR-80F aldehydes and ketones resin has strong adhesion for steel, copper, aluminum, zinc and other metals. It applied to metal paint, plastic and other special types of paint. It is recommended to use 5% -10% in the system. (Engineers recommended)

(4) KR-130 aldehydes and ketones resin is fit for high-temperature-resistant metal paint, roast paint and other high-temperature-resistant coating system. We recommended only using 1%-5% in the whole system (Engineers recommended).

(5) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin are fit for manufacturing wood varnish or color paint, as well as fast polished wood primer painting. We suggest that the usage of the entire system will be about 3% -10%.

(6) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin, as a result of high-gloss, can be used in nitrolacquer, and will improve the goods solid content, fullness and adhesion. Available to do mechanical paint, primer and paint repair, it is recommended to use about 5% in the goods rate.

(7) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin are used in nitro cellulose and acetyl cellulose paper coatings. It can enhance quick-drying, water whiting, gloss, and excellent flexibility; improve its wear-resistant, wash-resistant properties; also obtain high flexibility of the surface. We suggested using about 5% in the whole system.

(8)KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin have excellent heat resistance. It can be used for baking finish, in particular, it does not produce odor or bleached resin. Adding 5% of KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin to finish baking can speed up the initial physical drying process to increase the coating’s dry property.

(9) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used in the chlorinated rubber paint and vinyl chloride copolymer paint to instead of 10% base material, debasing its viscosity, enhancing its adhesion, reducing the film holes, increasing its gloss and so on.

(10) Because of KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin’s high activity hydroxide, it can react with isocyanate and it can be used in polyurethane systems and other systems to improve adhesion, water-resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of the system. We suggested using about 4% -8% in the whole system.

(11) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used in nitrolacquer, plastic paint, acrylic resin paint, hammer paint, automotive varnishes, automotive repair paint, motorcycle paint, cycling paint etc. It is recommended to use about 5% in the whole system to improve the degree of fullness, hardness and impact resistance of coating layer.

(12) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used in the alkyd resin paint. The ratio between alkyd resin and KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin is about 1:1; the specific ratio can be based on actual needs.

(13) KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin is the ideal resin for paint factory producing universal color paste. We recommended the ratio between KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin and the solvent is about 1:1.

.Applications of aldehydes and ketones resin −−Adhesives and other areas

1, KR-80F aldehydes and ketones resin due to the low softening point, the adhesion is excellent and superior to KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin. It can be commonly used for a variety of solvent-based adhesive. 3% -10% is recommended for use in the whole system. (Engineers recommended)

2, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin has a good original viscosity and holding viscosity. It is very suitable for using in nitro-cellulose adhesives to bond fabrics, leathers, paper and other similar materials.

3, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin has good thermal stability, which make it can be used in hot melt compounds with acetylcholine butyl cellulose. It can be used to control the melt viscosity and hardness of the cooling block. Such hot-melt compounds can be used to protect the mechanical components.

4, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin is soluble in ethanol and have a certain degree of hardness, which make it apply to manufacturing polishing agents and wood surface treatment agent.

5, KR-120 aldehydes and ketones resin can be used as cleaning water repellent fabric.
